Volcanic activity on Reykjanes Peninsula
Since December 2023, nine eruptions have occurred on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The latest, by Sundhnúksgígar crater, started on July 16 and ended on August 5, 2025. Air traffic remains unaffected, and all services across Iceland operate normally.
