- Volcanic activity on Reykjanes Peninsula
Since December 2023, eight eruptions have occurred on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The latest, by Sundhnúksgígar crater on April 1, 2025, lasted just over six hours — the shortest in the current eruption cycle.
